The hardware store has been a staple business on Main Street in Coon Rapids, Iowa for 50 Years.  Since 2003, it has been locally, family-owned, and operated by husband-and-wife Duane and Robyn Esdohr.  In 2015, son Adam moved back to Coon Rapids where he has become a partner in the family hardware business. 

Prior to 2003, Gary and Allen with their families operated the store first under Coast to Coast then to True Value.  In 2010 The Esdohrs transitioned the store to a Hardware Hank.  As owners, the Esdohrs, who were born, raised, and graduated from Coon Rapids, have always strived, and continue to provide excellent customer service.  We continue to work hard for our local community and never take a customer for granted.

From when Gary and Allan Johnston owned the hardware store, it was housed in a 3,000 square foot facility. Over the years of expanding the offerings, the facility size has changed. In 2020 the Esdohrs renovated and moved into the Garst and Thomas Seed Corn Office.  This increased the store’s footprint to over 20,000 square feet.  With this move, the Esdohr’s have expanded their product line of appliances, furniture, clothing, rentals, livestock gates & feeders, and much more.

As a family-operated business, we take pride in our customer service — getting to know our customer’s needs and wants.  If we do not have what you need, we will try to find and get it for you.
